A group of soldiers is gathering on the street in front of a beer hall with their packs. Two are bidding farewell to their sweethearts, and one hoists a glass of beer in the air. Captain Edwin Jenney's Battery F of the 3rd New York Light Artillery served mostly in the southeast, most notably at the Battle of Fort Wagner.
